anyone use this product? i was told at a local dealer that this would be just as good as using a gel coat repair kit. (i left a little souvenier at santee cooper)
i have used on on everything from patching gelcoat to rebuilding my engine mounts. great stuff. highly recamanded. does EXACTLY what it say. sands like wood, hanldes like putty, and if you mix it right, holds like steel
K5 - Marine Tex is one of two not very well know items that should be in every boaters garage. I agree with Mike %100. You have to watch when applying to vertical surfaces. It tends to sag until it starts curing. When it is completely cured it is as tough as steel and as hard to smooth. Trick is to start the smoothing at the sweet spot in the curing.

By the way the other item is Marvel Mytery oil. Another super product.
Had a leak comming from inside the wall under the sink. (House) last year. Knowing we were going to be replacing everything in the summer of 04 I just mixed up some marine tex and and coated both joints and a 1/2 hole. Been water tight ever since.
MarineTex is an excellent product...one of it's best qualities is that it cures to a pretty good match to many off-white gelcoats. One caution...be ready to rock when you mix it up. I have never been able to slow down the cure time very much...it sets up pretty quick. For filling screw holes and nicks in the gel coat it is the best product I've used.
