just wanted some thought or opinions on new four wins boats .. I have been in the market for a new boat .. we kinda were set on a regal bow rider ..so we were out today and happened by the four wins dealer so we decided to have a look .. my wife liked the boat we looked at and the price was reasonable.. I just havnt really research that brand a whole lot .. ive seen some on the lakes but don't know a lot about them.. I did like the boat and the dealer seemed a little less dealerish if you know what I mean....but don't want to buy junk either so any input would be great...

I would put Four Winns toward the middle of the "hierarchy". Definitely above bayliner but I think it may be about even or slightly lower than Regal.

Others may have different opinions.

that's what I was thinking too..also not sure if the 200hp Volvo will be enough power for a 2800lbs boat ..

I agree, it is a mid-range boat, which is fine. Regal is a bit better. Not sure if you were looking for the best boat on the water, but most affordable boats are mid-range in terms of quality, longevity, etc.

My brother-in-law has a horizon 19' and it seems like a pretty good boat. It's quiet inside and seems well enough built. It has the V6 Volvo and gets up on plane easily but has the turning radius of a truck. He skis and his sons wakeboard behind it without issue.

Four Winns are decent. I'm not catching the size you are looking for. They get more appointments (stuff they could put on smaller boats but just don't) many times as they get larger meaning a larger bowrider in a certain brand can be quite a bit nice than their smaller boats. Which model are you considering?

I have owned 3 Cobalt boats and one Regal and one Four Winns boat. Also a lot of other brands. In the boats I mentioned, the Cobalts are the top but the 20' Regal we had was a close runner up. I'm very impressed with the quality of our 18' four Winns Horizon. Gel-coat is very tough with no cracking, any where. The upholstery seems top notch also, and we like the fiberglass floor with snap out carpet. The trailer also is very well built with a 6 lug 5 or 6k axle instead of the undersized usual 3500lb. But I am going to tell you that condition is everything. If the boat looks like heck, walk away. If you buy new, I think the Four Winns will serve you well. I know I would probably buy them without any hesitation. Good luck Dave-R
