Look around, lots of this type of concern and questions have been addressed already. Then you wouldn't have to wait for an answer.
There is a 1hr edit window for posts. It was instituted a while ago, removed for a short period of time earlier this year (the beginning of summer maybe) and re-instituted later in the summer.
It is likely to remain.

If you find info posted in error, typos or you REALLY need to add info to a post. Just PM a mod and give them the edits you want made.
I would highly recommend quoting yourself, and post whatever needs changing yourself, just in a new post. Much quicker, and anyone reading the topic you want to make changes in, should see the new posted changes.
Either method is fine.
