I need a brass fitting for my 1972 Mercruiser 165 trim system. The male side is 1/8" npt to thread into the trim sending unit, the other side takes a standard trim hose. What is the thread/fitting description for the trim hose? Many web searches and have not found the answer (or a suitable adapter).

Thank you.

My 74 trim sender uses a nylon type hose with a fitting that is not the same as the standard trim hydraulic hose.
I would have thought the 72 was the same?

The one that alldodge linked to looks the same as mine.

Alldodge, Mar C. Thank you for the information. Marc, yes the 72 has the same nylon hoses. I installed a new trim pump that eliminates the need for the reverse lockout valve, and one of the nylon hoses as well. The remaining nylon line, the long one, had cracked at the compression fitting. Since I have an extra flared trim hose on hand, I decided to convert that last nylon tube to the standard flared trim hose.

I did find the proper brass fitting today thanks to a sharp parts man at the local NAPA distribution warehouse in Sacramento. The adapter part number is Eaton Weatherhead 202X3.

hopefully, all trim problems are now solved. :fish2:

Thanks again.

Good to hear you got her going. Now if you would have told us that you were installing the new style pump we would not have been looking at the old style
