1. It really doesn't matter.

2. You should replace the plugs after a decarb.

3. Yes, cables can stretch. I would look, first, for loose linkages.

#3 - Do not try to ease it in gear. Engage solidly.

The only other time I decarbed I changed plugs afterwards, like you recommend. But, what do you think of the decarb method described in the FAQ - which claims that the plugs don't necessarily need to be changed after decarb - because they are also cleaned? I just did this method this weekend - but did not have time to pull the plugs afterward to check if they really were cleaned or not. Actually they weren't that old so I don't know if it would have been relevant anyway. I tend to change my plugs each spring and again during the season if I'm running it a lot anyway, but I thought I'd point out that FAQ and what it says re: plugs.

If you pull them, you'll see a bit of gunk around the edges that can be easily cleaned off. If you wait too long, it'll bake on. Plug are cheap though.

And how - my attitude is when in doubt, change the plugs!

Re: three questions please

The plugs were almost new when I decarbed. Cleaned plugs afterwards. Runs like a watch now. Right on Bass Runner!
