Throddle Kock-15H Johnson(aprox yr 1995)

I have a 15 horse Johnson (1994-1998)(not exactly sure of year). Got it slightly used. No manual. The throddle seams to be locked. It will idle & run great, but I can't figure out how to get the throddle lock OFF if there is one. PLEASE RESPOND [*]null

I guess it is hand controlled. It will not allow you to rev up if not in gear. This is a security mechanism. Run it in a barrel to test. Beware of propeller touching side of barrel.

that year 15 should tach all the way up in neutral pop the hood and check that there is no bind in the linkage i dont think there is any kind of lock , i have a 93 15 and mine doesnt sounds like something is in a bind

There is a "safety lock" on the armature plate that sometimes gets stuck and causes your problem. It looks like a little white button sitting in a groove just underneath your flywheel. Find this, on the right side of your motor from behind, and you should be able to unstick it.
