Hi there, I just got my boat back last week from getting the motor tuned up. It was stalling out when going from neutral into gear. Either forward or reverse.
So, I took it out today. Ran great when I got it in the water. Took it up the lake for a spin (and did some fishing)
All was good. Until, we stopped again, had some lunch and tried to get going again.
I pushed the throttle only button in, put the lever forward. Turned the key and it started IN GEAR. I thought, oh well, maybe I didn`t push the button in. So, put it into neutral, pushed the throttle only button in, pushed the lever forward and started. Again, in gear. Now I am stumped. Put it back into neutral, then in reverse. Now, it won`t go into reverse. The lever will go back, but, the prop is going in forward.
My thoughts are that it is a cable issue. Maybe a loose connection?
Any thoughts or ideas?
Oh, when we stopped for lunch and had the motor idling, there was a strange noise. At first I thought it was a motor, low idle knocking, or, the cover rattling. Later figured it was the shifter, in just the right position, where it was just about going into gear.
Thanks for any help.
Brian
