throttle backs off

i have a brand new yamaha four stroke and when i put the throttle lever down i find that i cannot let it go without it backing off a little is there an adjustment i can make before i take it in for my 10 hour service

Yes there is, but you will have to identify the control first before any one can help. Used to be in the owners manual.

i believe it is the 704 control it is on my boston whaler montauk center console
