throttle bracket at carb - new carb doesn't line up!

Hello all, my saga continues of repowering a 1988 7.4L with a bravo 1 drive with what I will call a generic 454 mag. The new engine has an Edelbrock 1410. The old had a q-jet. There is a spacer between the carb and mani. It looks like the spacer is square bore only, at least on the top where the carb is mounted, even though the carb is drilled for. In the pic, the bracket needs to go to the empty holes. Can I get a different bracket? How do I make this work? It was going so smoothly!

I'd Move the Studs to Where you Need them,.....

It Looks like the Manifold is drilled for Both Patterns......

Why do you need the Adapter Plate,..??... Height,.??

It Looks like the whole stack is Dual Pattern......

Bond-o thanks for your reply.

Actually the adapter plate is only drilled where you can see the studs. I agree, without taking it off it looks like the manifold is drilled for both, just not the plate. I don't know why the plate is there, thats how it came.
Does someone make a bracket for this or do I have to drill the plate?

I believe on the Magnum engine mercruiser used a Weber Carb which was a square bore carb like the Edelbrock. They also mounted the throttle cable bracket to the rear carb studs. Check with you local Mercruiser dealer.

I know , from drag racing; adaptor plates slow you down, especially in midrange torque, which is what we need.
