I was cleaning my boat last weekend and changing plugs when I noticed that the throttle didn't open full when I put it in WOT at the dock, not running just wanted to clean up the throttle body butterfly plate. 2005 mercruiser 350 mpi ser. # 0w037384, I will double check this weekend, but pretty sure the control was all the way open (WOT) but the butterfly wasn't. does it need an adjustment and how do I do that? my kid had a 4.3l that I adjusted for the same reason and it wouldn't shift into gear like it should until I put cable back to how it was. picture and videos would help too. thanks!!

Not sure, I was tuning it up and cleaning throttle butterfly with, I thought< at wot, but it looked to be 1/2 to 3/4 open engine off.

I think you would have noticed the engine not getting up to full RPM unless it has been like that for a while. Eye's can deceive but the tach will tell the story next time you are out.

after cleaning, I read somewhere when adjusting throttle linkage at wide open throttle, it should be at WOT, on control arm and the throttle body butterfly. so I guess I'm asking if that is true or not so much.
