throttle linkage

79 85 hp v4 johnson <br />when hooking up the throttle cable i ahve it adjusted allthe way in and it is still too much throttle on idle what can i do to lower myidle<br />i cant adjust the throttle cable anymore

Did you back off the throtle stop at the control box? There should be a small knob, maybe two, on the control box. One knob is for tension (holds the throtle lever where you put it) The other is for adjusting fine idle speed ( doesn't allow the lever full travel).
