My throttle only button on the shift lever is stuck in the out position, I cant push in .Is there a way to free it up and get it working again?
Don
Hulk, I think I have one similar to yours. I have never had any problems, consequently I am ignorant of its inner workings. I would make sure it is in neutral when you try to push the button, since it is likely you cannot push it when in gear. If that fails, you will need to dissamble.

Not too helpful, I'm afraid
Hey 007
Does anyone know about the 2 pins that hold the throttle shaft button. The one pin on the top dosent move in or out,the bottom one slides in and out.I can get the new button past the top pin,it must be jammed.
hulk
what year is your control mine is a 1995 comander 3000 and it was recalled in 1996 because of and issue of not being able to put it netural

do you have the books the boat was delivered with in mine they give a good look at the control and how it should be installed and adjusted

tommays
Hulksterpups
this was and is a common problen. usually due to the pot metal drum gets eaten by the steel lock pin. it takes 3 hours or so to repair and about 125 in parts. I dont even bother with them anymore. a new box is about 300
if you have never opened up one then you need to it can be frustrating
good luck and keep posting
Thanks Rodbolt
Yes ,I know what you mean about frustrating,I mess around with it a month ago and got nowhere .I guess Ill live with it for the rest of the summer and check it out this winter, thanks again everyone .
Don
