I have a 2003 Johnson Bombodier 50 Hp, four-stroke. I am trying to convert it from tiller handle to consule. I got the Johnson Bombodier cables for it and hooked them up but there isn't enough adjustment in the cables, Is there any other more genaric cables with more adjustment in them? The ones I have only have adjustments on the motor end. What part # should I be looking for?

Diagram should be the same as the Suzuki 2003 DF 50TLK3:

See them here:

Are you sure you have the right length cable. If you are trying to adjust the cables for length you are mistaken about what the adjustment is for. The motor end adjustments are to ensure when the control box is in neutral the engine is in neutral and the throttle is closed.

make shure you have a 12"loop(slack) in the cable for the motor to turn.

Re: Throttle/Shifting Cables?

I got the motor end to fit in the bracket on the motor and had to adjust them as long as they could go, (they had about 4 inches of adjustment) And when I hook them up It won't shift correctally on the control box becasue when the the control box says nuetral it is in Foward, so i can not shift correctally. If I had about 2 more inches of adjustment I would be OK.

Do you have the adjustable casing guides with set screws?
