throttle stopped working while cruising?

Hey guys I have a 2000 ski supreme v drive. I was cruising in forward gear and the boat just stopped moving and went down to an idle, I put it in nuetral and shut it off. When I go to start it just clicks now like a bad battery or starter. I had it towed in now I have the batteries on the charger so Im not sure if it will start yet. Any ideas of what could have happened?

Either the dangle arm on the maniform broke, or you spun a muffler bearing.

But seriously, it sounds like something broke. Carb linkage, oil pressure switch, a fitzer valve, or one of a multitude of other things.

Very vague question with almost no supporting info for anyone to make heads or tails of, ie, engine, carb/efi, etc.
