i have a single throttle lever for my 60hp johnson o/b.i took it apart and greased it up,which let it travel much smother, but now when on the water the full throttle position springs back about an inch when you remove your hand.
any ideas because i am confused.

how do i set up throttle cable tension correctly? although i have not touched them.

Re: throttle

pwgun

You should have a tension adjustment on the control. Look for a small flat black knob toward the bottom of the control and turn it clockwise to keep the throttle from creeping back.

Re: throttle

rick,
thanks for the help,, turned out to be an odd one!
I gresed up th slot on the circular nylon part only to realise that i had overdone it. As i pushed it forward hard the grease hydraulicked causing a back pressure, solved by wiping away some grease
