Okay a small prob, i guess. I recently changed the bowls, jets and fuel filter on my 90 hp Johnson. it ran fine after i took it out and then i changed the fuel filter and it ran like **** after that. It will throttle all the way up in neutral but it wont once its in gear it wont run at full throttle even with it pushed all the way down I tried running it a little bit just to see if it had anything clogged and it seemed like it kept wanting to go full power but it just wouldn't do it. Any suggestions?

what kind of filter,if it's a small inline, depending on the type,it's possible to put parts backward,or perhaps something got loose and plugged up a carb only letting you run on 2 cylinders.you can pull the plug wires off while running and see if its a top or bottom carb.problem

Re: Throttling Up Problem

i bought a universal inline glass filter. But i will check all that out to see what the problem is. I was thinking one of my control cables might have been bad but i will check those things out first and no i don"t have the filter backwards lol. thats the first thing i checked. Thank You.

Re: Throttling Up Problem

thanks for your help everyone. I had an oppurtunity today to change the spark plugs and that was the problem. I guess i accidently dropped one and it messed the gap up. So all i did was repair that and it was good to go. Thanks so much. FISHING TRIP THIS WEEKEND!!! :D
