Does anyone happen to know the inside diameter of this hose?
Should I use a Mercruiser part, or will good gas proof hose work OK?
Is it hard to install with the out-drive in place, any tips?
Thanks!

A word of caution!!!!! Be VERY careful with the fitting that passes through the transom. Mine was made of plastic and I broke the barb off of it. Carefully slice the old hose and remove the hose with extreme caution. The through transom bulkhead fitting is a real pain to replace. You have to work blindly and be a contortionist with extra long arms. All while working by feel since you can't even see the darn thing.

Yikes!! I just got the darn hose out, came up to the cabin, and read your warning. There was no hose barb stuck in the hose, so I guess I'm safe. The inside diameter measures 1/4 inch, and the hose barbs stretch that out to 5/16 inch. So on Sunday I'll be fighting to get the new hose in place, and then try cinching those hose clamps. Looks like a fun job, could have been seal though, so I guess I'm lucky. Thanks all.

I got the hose in place. My hose barbs were brass (fortunately) and intact. I used a long set of pliers designed for removing a hook from a fish, while wearing a focused headlamp for light. It was not easy, but came out fine. I elected not to reinstall the hose clamps, once over the barbs, that hose did not want to come off easily. I'll inspect it in the fall.
Thanks again everyone.
