thru hull would be one less boat blowing pollution in the water.

wrong... the cooling water still goes through the exhaust and falls back into the lake..... Face it.... ALL you gain is noise and at the expense of everyone else on the water.... I have twin 260's and I have a complete silent choice system that I have decided NOT to install.... it just isn't right to force everyone else to listen to my noise.... as much as I would enjoy rumbling away from the dock, others just don't want to have to listen to me...

I also have a 3.0L merc and there is no way i'd want to hear that little sucker with thru transom exhaust! I appreciate how quiet it is actually. You could always make some fakes and attach them to the transom, paint the insides black.. folks will think you have selectable exhaust and are just pushing out the prop!
