I am currently looking to incorporate thru hull exhaust on my 2000 Bayliner 2150 Capri. It's running a Mercruiser 305 with a Alpha One lower unit.I do not have a swim platform. I'm strictly looking to improve the sound of my boat. Corsa does not offer an "off the shelf" exhaust for my boat. Of course they will custom build me one for the mere price of around $1000.00. They have a system called the Quick & Quiet II which utlilizes their ARS silencer tips and uses a non-switchable diverter so the Y pipe is still utilized. My question is this. Corsa sells their ARS silencer tips for around 86.00 /piece. I believe I can make diverters with exhaust tubing myself for around 50.00 bucks. 250.00 bucks is a whole lot cheaper than 1000.000. Has anyone done this before? Is their anything I need to be aware of that would make this unacceptable? Lastly, Does anyone know of another thru hull exhaust supplier that may be a little more economical than Corsa?

Corsa's the cheapest ive found. Merc about twice as much if they still make it. If sound is what you want dont use a quick and quiet. Just buy the diverters with the electronic solenoids. You can probably make your own tips Ive seen that done. But corsas tips have a built in counterweighted shutter to stop backwash. I dont know how youd make that. Deffinitely recommend Corsa. They make good quality stuff, ive put on a ton of them.

IMHO<br />I've never used that system but I've noticed that the Y-pipe makes it 'drone' somewhat. The 'straight' pipes are noisier but sound a lot nicer.
