Thunderbolt IV Distributor Gear

Is this gear ok for roller applications as well. I looked up the part number for the IV and V and the gear PN is the same. I know that the V used a roller cam.

Yes,they are the same, unless of course Mercruiser uses the same PN for 2 different gears. Then I guess you just have to keep ordering till you get one that will work. :rolleyes:

The "melonized" gear is used on both T4 and T5 distributer, and not all T5 distributers were used with roller cams.

I had a harder time finding the fuel pump rod that was compatable with the roller cam. Merc has discontinued it, and had to get one from a speed shop.

I have not had any problems with the Thunderbolt gear on the Vortec roller cam. Just stab it in and run...:)

Ayuh,...

My 4.3LX is a T-Bolt IV,+ a rollercam,....

Ah HA. I was assuming these were all interchangable. Which one do I need. Summit is down the street from me and they ahve two kinds. ARP's and Cranes Chromemoly Units or Comps steel with bronze tips?
