Re: Tie Straps vs. hose clamps
Worm-drive style hose clamps can loosen from vibration and over-zealous DIYer's have a tendancy to over tighten them. The tie-straps used on the fuel lines are easier to deal with in production, there is a special tool that tightens the strap and cuts it flush. They also don't loosen from vibration and last a long time without corroding. They are NOT the same style of strap used in most electrical applications and electrical tie-strap should NEVER be used on a fuel hose. The strap OMC (and now Bombardier) use have a special curve to the back side of the locking device that clamps the full circumference of the hose allowing an air tight/no leak seal. You can ask your local dealer to order you a bag of them p/n 320107 I think they're about $7/bag of 100, or maybe he'll just sell you a few of his if you don't need that many.

-John
