Tight Steering

I have a 1990 Reinell 17M with an OMC 2.3 liter Cobra I/O. No power steering. The manual steering is stiff, but has loosened up a little with use. As I recall there should be a point where you can lube the steering system. As of this time, I have been unable to locate any lube fittings. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Ayuh,... Disconnect the cable from the tiller arm, 'n see whether it's the cable, or the drive that's tight,....

If it's the cable, replace it, it's a non-serviceable item,....

Another spot to check is, Is the cable end good 'n loose inside the aluminum tube, after ya loosen the big nut holdin' the cable housin' into the tube,...

If it's Tight, pull the cable, clean the tube, Grease it up good, 'n put it back together,...
