Hello,
I have an 89 OMC 2.3L and I tried to tighten my transom plate today. I could only gain access to 5 of the 6 nuts to tighten. I could see the one behind the exhaust riser (center starboard), it had several exposed threads between the nut and the plate. I tried every trick I could come up with before I gave up. Has anyone been able to do this with the engine in place??? Any help would be much appreciated. Thank You, Ed:confused:

If they are loose, it's for only one reason. The wood in the transom is rotten. Happens all the time on old boats.
