I have a 89 Evinrude 15hp tiller. It is in perfect running condition, and was on my Arkansas aluminum boat when I bought it. I just picked up a olser Glassmaster runabout that needs an engine. So I am thinking of converting the engine to work with it. I know I need controls, and an electric start. Is it worth converting this engine, or selling it with the aluminum boat, and buying an engine ready to go? Will the 15hp move the fiberglass boat ok? I am new to boating, so I have alot to learn.

Here is a picture of the aluminum 15 foot boat and the engine I speak of.

Here is the Glassmaster I want to install the engine on if it is worth it.

Thank you

You may probably get a 20/30 El start for less than the cost of 'upgrading' your 15.

Re: Tiller to remote control help

My wife talked me into keeping the aluminum boat and getting rid of the fiberglass boat.
