My family has a pontoon with a Mercury Bigfoot 60 outboard. In cleaning it up after sitting out side all winter I discovered the tilt and trim not moving up or down, yet the motor is running. After further investigation I found that the hydraulic ram housing is cracked. This part seems to be unavailable, so we purchased a used one off Ebay.
The two hydraulic ramps are the same, but the pumps and motors are not. How do I separate the pump base from the hydraulic ram? I have removed the two bolts, but cannot get them apart. I do not want to break anything by forcing it. Any help would be much appreciated !
