Tilt and Trim Issue.

Just retired and started cleaning up the boat. It is a 1993 SSV17.5 Glastron with a 230B Volvo power plant. Very few hours on it over the years, usually only used once a year but kept up in great shape and garaged. I have two issues to discuss.
1. The tilt trim buttons are now operating a little strange. I can trim/tilt up by pressing the UP button on both the trim and tilt buttons but the UP button for trim does not work and the tilt UP button does not work by its self. The down buttons on both the tilt and trim work just fine. The issue boils down to the trim UP button does not work at all by its self and the trim UP button does not work by its self. Could it be just the switch or the relay? I can still operate the boat but I want it to be correct so that if the kids borrow the boat they won't freak out.
2. This should be in another post but. Temp gauge is about 40 deg. to high compared to the actual engine temp. Should I just replace the sending unit?

Thanks in advance for any and all help.

The temp: make sure the connections are all clean.
How'd you figure the temp was off?

I used a infrared thermometer to measure the block temp. It shows 180 high at start which matches the thermostat and drops to 160 after warm up. This matches the report from the marine tech report that tuned up the motor last fall. All connections are clean and tight. Boat is like new for a 21 year old craft. Has less than 700 hours on it.
