Okay,
Had the boat out for the second time (since I bought it). While I was on the water the tilt and trim stopped working. The tilt/trim motor still runs but it doesn't lift. I am guessing that it ran out of fluid. I wonder how do I check the fluid levels? Where is the reservoir located? The tilt/trim motor is located in a very tight location (where the gas tank is stored). Does anyone have pics of their reservoir? Is there a fill hole? Some guidance would be great. Thanks in advance.....

trim pump.JPGYou are probably low on fluid.I use automatic tranny fluid and fill her up till it flows over.I included a pic which if yours looks simular has a fill screw where the red circle is on top (little bitty screw).

While your down there on all fours check rams etc for leaks. If fluid gets out, water can get in.You don't want water getting in.

Aussie meant to check the trim hoses for leaks, especially at the fittings where they connect to the control valve on the base of the PTT pump. Leaks at the trim cylinders are bloody obvious. Also the trim cylinders are completely out of the water on that model.

Added some Dextron III today and it lifted right up. I fluid reservoir was completely empty and it nearly took a whole quart to fill it up. I did not find any leaks after filling it up and running it a couple times. Thanks for your guys help.

There is a procedure to bleed the trim cylinders themselves. Pull up on the lower unit. If it moves a bit, the cylinders need bleeding. I can walk you thu it.
