Tilt and Trim Problem... LEAK!

I have a 2000 Johnson 50 that sat for about 6 years. I fixed the motor part (somehow), but it appears the orings on the TnT dry rotted? So I bought the rebuild kit for $67 and rebuilt it with the orings provided. When the trim sits there, no oil leaks and the motor stays up. When I trim down about 3/4, oil comes out where the wiper ring is. It will do this until there is not enough oil to pick up the motor.

I checked the orings and they are all correct according to the schematic. I don't know what to do. Any ideas?

Are there any gruves or nicks on the shaft itself where the seals ride. The shaft has to be perfectly smooth in the seal area.

Some of those PTT seal kits come with new wipers. Did you install new wipers as well as orings?

Yes

I changed every oring except those on the motor. I checked yesterday and the wipers are installed correctly.

Would the engine manual have a complete breakdown with better pictures than the kit had?

We're likely going to just replace the entire unit.
