Tilt and Trim problem

I have a 1990, 90 HP johnson. I replaced the trim motor about a year ago. The motor runs fine, But it moves the motor real slow. I raised the motor all the way up and put in oil to the top of the screw on the side of pump. was this the correct way to top off the oil.

The fill hole should be on the back of the reservoir, not the side, facing aft.

It's similar to the one in the thumbnail.
