I have a 1978 Johnson 115 and the TNT motor worked but the solenoid in the control box was shot so I decided to modernize it with 2 relays. The old system used 1 solenoid for going up due to the fact that moving the motor up took a lot of amps and for going down it was just straight wired to the switch at the helm. I didn't like that so I decided to change it.

Parts needed (obtained at O'Reilly Auto Parts)
2 PT193 pigtails
2 R3074 relays (30 amp relays)
1 30 amp circuit breaker
Various electrical connectors
Heat shrink tubing
Soldering iron
Solder
Flux

Here's a pic of the completed setup, I made it all fit in the original box and used the existing screws to connect the wires so that I can take it apart if I ever need to.

Going from left to right:
Main power into the circuit breaker,
2 red wires coming off the circuit breaker go to the #30 terminal on the relays
Another wire comes off the circuit breaker and goes to the control switch at the helm
First screw on is the left coil wire for left relay. #86 terminal on relay this activates the relay and sends power to the TNT
Second screw, the yellow wire coming off the left relay is the power going to the TNT motor #87 terminal on the relay

The other 2 screws are are basically the same thing but for the other relay. The final screw on the right is the ground for everything, #85 terminal on the relay is ground. The only wires missing in this picture are the motor leads because when I took this pic the motor was off.

This is just a basic universal relay setup that will work for any 3 wire TNT motor

Nice update/installation to an old system. I esp like the circuit breaker you added! Congrats.
