Tilt and trim

Hi
I have a 1990 60hp Johnson that I am having trouble with ths trim somtimes it works sometimes it doesnt it tries to raise but only a few inches and thats after running for
awhile will lower on its own could I be low on oil and if so how do you add more.

Should be a fill/inspection plug that looks like the one on your lower unit, on the starboard side. Open it and top off the fluid.

When your're filling it have it the full tilt up position.

You can use OEM pt/t fluild or ATF. I prefer atf 'cause if you get a leak you can see it.

Over the weekend while boating on the Gasconade river in MO with help raised motor by hand and operated the tilt&trim the piston would
raise one side then the other had to pull both pistons out by hand added fluid a little low the piston still would not extend completly and
when the motor was set down the piston did not have enough balls to lift motor checked oil level, still unable to raise motor also when motor was raised up and latched oil started leaking down from the upper motor area down the lower unit. Could someone tell me where
this could be coming from,this motor has a jet.
