My '78 MERC900 has hydraulic hoses for the tilt located under the front of the engine in the transom 'tub' under the steering link. The rubber is deteriorated and is peeling off these hoses, exposing a white-weaved material that looks in good shape. Is this going to cause problems for me in the future? can I coat with a silicon type of adhesive? wait for them to break? or pre-emptively replace? Thanks.
