tilt hydraulic motor

1989 Four Winns with 2 5.8 OMC cobras. The tilt motor is not working on the startboard engine and I'm wondering if these can be rebuild or what generally goes wrong with them. It does nothing when I hit the tilt toggle switch. Thanks.

Ayuh,.... The most common problem is corroded wirin' 'tween the battery, 'n pump, or 'tween the pump, 'n switch,.....

This could also be as simple as a blown 50 amp fuse, a bad switch on the remote control, broken wiring between the switch and the relay and the relay itself. Start with the fuse; then check for voltage at the trim motor when someone works the trim switch.
