I am not able to see a trim lock mechanism (see pics). I do see a flip switch, but this cannot lock the tilt. Is the flip switch a limit switch of some sort? or possibly an electronic cutoff switch that triggers a sensor??

I am trying to lock down the motor and bypass the power tilt/trim. It is not operable at this time, and I would like to use the boat, and manually raise and lower the motor. But I do not see anywhere to lock it??

The t/t is what locks it down. Best thing to do is fix the t/t.

THE PROBLEM IS... THE CABLE THAT GOES FROM THE 5-PIN CONNECTOR IN THE MOTOR HOUSING TO THE GAUGE ON THE DASH, IS obsolete. i HAVE LOOKED EVERYWHERE FOR THIS CABLE AND everyone SAYS its no longer available.

Therefore, I would like to either make my own cable, or bypass the gauge. The 5-pin coming from the gauge, plugs into the 5-pin that is wired into the relays. My assumption is that seeing as how the gauge is missing, there is no way to complete the circuit that operates the trim /tilt.

Does anyone know of a way to accomplish eliminating the gauge, or making a new cable?
