Re: Tilt motor question on 200hp Mercury
lets try and think about this as a 12 volt starter motor on your car,...when you go to start your car , and you hear a clicking instead of the starter turning,... it is either a bad battery OR poor connections at your battery....start with cleaning up your battery terminals,...your battery cannot charge if the terminal connections are poor or corroded....nor can it transfer electrical power to components...give it a try , ya can't hurt anything by cleaning your battery terminals...if you have a volt/ohm meter ,check the voltage at your battery terminals before you clean them,...if you show less than 12 volts you will have your answer. If you show 12 volts or better at the battery, check the voltage at the hot terminals (usually the red wire)and ground at the trim/tilt relays...if less than 12 volts, clean those terminals as well...good luck bro !
