TILT PUMP/MOTOR ASSEMBLY FORCE 75 H.P. (1998) Does not hold for long over time

I have to put something under the outboard near the transom to hold it up out of the water over night.

It seems like an o-ring or valve is not keeping the seal for long periods of time. It does hold sort of for while I'm running but you can tell it moves a little as the attitude of the boat changes slightly.

This has not been a big deal, but I do want it to fix over the winter. I saw new ones are close to $800 for the whole setup, well I only paid $800 for the motor.

I'm having the same problem, I don't think they're serviceable. You can buy the slave/master cylinders for alot cheaper than that, I've got a lock pin I use aswell for when I'm transporting my boat, last thing I want is the leg dropping down in transit!

Anyone have any ideas why this keeps slipping over night?, the motor used to stay up all the time, now as soon as I walk away it starts to slip down... I might start a new thread and maybe get some new ideas

yup. try poppet kit # 809879
if that doesn't fix it then there are no easy answers.

IMAG1803.jpgAlright, its only been a few hours but the motor seems to be staying in the up position after the poppet kit was installed, more so I found a broken spring in the plug facing the bow of the boat. Seen in the attached photo
