Hello all, I have a 2018 mercury 150 4 stroke. I am planning on replacing the cylinder cap on the tilt ram. To do so, I need to remove the piston. But I’m not sure how/if it can be removed. It appears as if two pins have been driven along either side of the shaft to prevent removal, but maybe I’m just missing something. Any idea if/how I get this thing off? See attached pics. Any help is greatly appreciated

Gee, I looked it up (see diagram for random 2014 Merc 150). It does not look like it comes apart. It does look like you could replace the seals, without disassembly. Hope it helps.

Yeah, it appears that away. Merc charges like 700 bones for a new assembly. But I was hoping not to pay that and the guys at five star said it would come off. So, again, maybe there is some method I am just not aware of
