Tilt-Trim fluid line replacement

1986 Searay W 4.3 OMC. A recent purchase I'm in process of restoring. After rebuilding (new brushes & seals) the pump now work fine. However, one of the line has a hole in it that I can see leaking just to the rear of engine. How do I change the line? Pls don't say pull engine! I have looked at service manual and did not see a procedure. BTW will be posting my rebuild efforts on the rebuild forms with photos. Great site.

I don't think you have to pull the engine, but you will probably have to support it. I'm not sure how it works on the hydraulic trim, I have mechanical. But I think you need to get the engine weight up off the trim system. I use a scissor jack under mine.

Well, I figured it out. Wanted to post what I did in the event someone else has same problem.

1. Remove engine with flywheel housing attached
2. Disconnect the power steering rod from the stern part
3. Removed transom plate (this part concerned me.) and lifted over water pickup tube-- I had already removed my stern drive but I was concerned the transom mount might move so I strapped it into place.
That's it. Have photos if anyone needs.
Now just need find a place to get them repaired. Both lines had been pinched and one was leaking. Lines have enough slack that I think they can just cut bad part off and put on new ends--if not will just get new ones made. Regardless, tilt lines are low priority as I have to get a new block. The PO had failed to drain the engine and the block cracked--what a waste.

WOW..had to remove the stinkin' engine just to replace one of the Hydraulic Trim and tilt lines? I hope to NEVER have to do that.

Update,
No other way to replace. Being they are no longer available to order I went to a local shop that rebuilds hoses. However, he did not have the connectors and said even if I could locate some he would have to order the stainless wrapped hose at $7.00 a foot.
Did some more checking and saw a similar hose for a King Cobra. So though Id give it a try, and ordered one from Iboats. Part info was: Power Trim hose, PN 18-2437, replaces OMC 3853921. King Cobra Trim System 1990-94.
Hooked hose up and all works fine. The one difference is the hoses are not stainless wrapped. Not sure that will matter but may need to put a heat shield on part of it.
Still along way to go with this project but at least that's one thing I can ck off.
I must also say, after my recent purchases for my new "hole-in-water" I've placed a number orders with Iboats for parts and must say, they have a great delivery system. (Hope I can say that)
