I just purchased a 1989 Larson DC 190 and I can't get the motor to raise back up after using the tilt trim switch to lower it. The person I bought the boat from told me about this and said he thought it just needed a solenoid replaced. He gave me a part (think it's the hydraulic pump) that has 3 wires screwed to it and a fluid reservoir for what I'm assuming is hydraulic fluid. I put the new part in today and I get the exact same results. When I press down on the tilt switch, I can hear it engage. When I press up on the switch, nothing happens. My question is, could this be a solenoid? What does the solenoid look like (new to boats and never worked on motors or any mechanics)? Is there anything else I could easily look in to to fix this?
