My boat is a 1985 Hydra-Sports w/ a 1979, 175 mercury v6, and 1985 tilt trim. The UP trim button on throttle goes down and so does the down. Also, when I start w/ the motor trimmed all the way up it goes down fine to a certain point maby 5deg. from plum. At this point the trim motor acts like its in a bind. and wont go down any further unless I release it manually. Once I'm past 0deg. the trim works fine to bottom and back up to 0deg. were it binds again. I think all my trouble is comming from my Trim Limit switch.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I think your wiring is messed up. Why not punch up a wiring diaghram at maxrules.com and trace it out.

A trim limit switch kills power to the trim button, when the motor is trimmed(not tilted) to the max. The tilt(or trailer) button then tilts the motor the rest of the way up. The Down button is common for trim and tilt.

First, thanks for the reply. Next the Trailer button workes for trim up right now, But were the motor needs to be tilted at to run full out is in the range that sounds like it's in a bind. Next I have the book with the complete wireing diagram and I've traced all of the wires down. I cant find any wire thats not makeing good connection with an ohm meter. Also I was putting a new bildge in yesterday, so I tilted the motor down just to give myself so extra room to work, and i noticed 2 seperate sparks back there at the limit switch. My boat has a large adjustable Jack plate on it, and when I'm on the water I trim by ear so the limit isnt really needed.
I think today I'm going to take the switch out and really look at it more closely as I am also going to completely bleed out the entire trim system. The guy that had this boat before me used hydrolic Jack oil. And its super milky and thick thick thick. That cant be good.
