I've been around enough electric motors to know a bad bearing when I hear one, and there's no doubt my tilt/trim motor has a bad bearing. Can the bearings be easily replaced in that motor, and does anyone know the part number of the bearing (not the OMC part number but a standard bearing number - if it's a standard bearing I can order them from our supplier at work). Looks like I've got the Showa DR2128 2.4" diameter motor.

thanks

Go on ebay and look up a new trim motor. Mine was only 50 bucks for my 1987 200hp evinrude. Even came with new o-ring.

I may end up doing that. It's just that I know what bearings cost (not much for ones that size) and on many electric motors replacing the bearings isn't very difficult.

I guess the next thing I need to figure out is how to get those three screws out without removing the engine from my boat.
