1990 40hp Evinrude. The Trim button on the front controls has stopped working, but the button on the engine works fine. Would this be a fuse or something else?
Hey, I'm not an expert, but that sounds like a blown fuse. If so you might have short somewhere. Is the fuse right near the switch? It should be easy to check. Good Luck!
No fuse in that circuit unless somebody added one. The switch wires should be plugged into the wiring harness. Unplug them and check for power to the red wire from the harness side and if that is good then check red to blue and red to green for continuity on the switch side when your push the switch up or down.
