Tilt/trim not working

I have a 1981 stingray with a mercuiser 140 I just bought..the tilt/trim motor had no hydraulic fluid in it and I filled with up with Hydraulic oil but still not working,the motor sounds like it is working on the tilt/trim. can anyone help please...thank you

Download the service manual for your ENGINE and DRIVE. The password for the files is <iboatsforum>. You'll find the instructions for bleeding the air from the system in there....
