I posted up a couple weeks ago about my 50 HP 3 cylinder Evinrude ( E 50 DTLEOS ) Thanks for the advice and I did find some part numbers on the evirude website but there are 2 kits. " A brush and seal kit" or an o-ring and seal kit???
Me and my neighbor spent most of today trying to get the the caps off of the 3 hydraulic rods on my boat today with all kinds of heck. Finally had to weld up a hickbuilt spanner wrench to get them off. They were locked up big time. Anyways I just need to get all the o-rings and the dirt sweep o-rings(or bushings..what ever they are called??) are toasted so I can't even take the old ones to a hydraulic shop to match them up for new ones..
I did a search and found that a number of people have just gone to a hydraulic shop and got what they needed??
I was wondering if I could get some advice before I spend a bunch of money.
We are having a lot of trouble getting the hardened pieces off of the ends of the small assist rams. We heated them up a little but where and what do you use to grip onto the end of the piston or the shaft with so you don't scratch it up?? The hardened ends are soaking in W-D 40 right now .. I hope this helps some??
Thanks in advance for any info..I really appreciate anything ya'll have for me.
Hank..
