Tilt / trim problem

92 model 60hp Rude power tilt hung up on me this evening. As I was loading the boat, after I had her on the trailer, I tilted the motor up before I pulled her out of the water. After I got her out, I tried to tilt the motor back down , and, nothing. Not even any sound when I push the down button. Have I run it up too far? Is there an upper limit switch that I've tripped? I hear the motor running when I push the up button, but nothing on the down. Thanks in advance for any help, advise, wisdom, etc...

Thanks a million, DJ. I'll check the relays in the morning.

Re: Tilt / trim problem

Must have been the weekend for failed relays! My up relay gave up on me Saturday. Down would still run the T&T motor so I swapped the relays and up would work but no down. I need a new relay. That's got to be the easiest repair on this motor. :D

Re: Tilt / trim problem

my motor trims up, but down is very intermittent. First thought was relays so i swapped them around and nothing changed. Goes up but not down. When i press the down i can hear what sounds like a very faint arching sound (?)

appreciate any help guys

AK

1993 140HP Evinrude
