tilt/trim

i have a 76'135hp evinrude,tilt/trim original i beleive;question is when i bought the boat tilt would never raise the engine but will lower,sounds like the motor is running and turning but not lifting,so i put hydraulic fluid in it with motor down{new at tilt/trim}but still no change does same thing.doesnt appear to have a leak or anything even though when in water i see some kind of fluid in water;sorry im such a rook but can some one please help?i would be very thankful

The motor must be in the full-up tilt position to fill properly. Try that and see how it does...

Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms? <br />Seriously, T&T fluid is pretty cheap. You should use what Evinrude reccomends. Only a couple bucks at Wally world. BTDT<br /><br />Dave

thanx rivk i have the same problem as well i never tried filling in the full up tilt position, will give it a try though
