I have a 1981 evenrude 115 I took it out friday the moter kept jumping up on me would not stay down i had it trimed all the down.

Have you checked the fluid? Does it work OK on the trailer?

It works fine it will go up and down just wont stay down when the boat is moveing I filled it up about a month ago.

Hydrolics are something that should not have to need filling. IF for some reason it is low. Find out why, or it will lead to further problems.<br /><br />TMD

Have you checked the manual release screw to make sure it is fully closed. It will still go up and down but will not hold if it is just barely open. To check the fluid level be sure to raise the motor to its up position, that allows all pressure off the system. Good luck, Tim
