Timing Adjustment Help Required

The timing plate on the engine is square with no valley or peaks.

There is only a zero mark and and an A mark with 8-scribed lines from 0-A and 4-scribed lines below zero.

If I am setting the timing at 6-degree BTDC whick mark do I use?

1984, 3.0 L Mercruiser
