Anyone who does work on their engine, especially for timing, synchronization, carb rebuilds, and major engine work needs to invest in a service manual that is specific to the engine. The timing specs (idle and wide open throttle) are provided as is the procedure describing the adjustment. Do it wrong and you can destroy the engine. If you don't want to buy the manual, check your local library. They often have them for check-out.
