What is the timing that this should be set to with the blue Prestolite Ingition? I think I have it set to 30BTDC, but it seems in the manual that it shows it should probably be at about 28. What would the difference be if I have it set to 30 over 28 BTDC? This is with the plugs out and at WOT while cranking with remote start.

Thanks,
Bryan Cox

You can even go 32 as was origonally published. If you do go 32 then use a midlevel octane.

What would going to 32 do for me? I just found this on your post, I was actually about to copy and paste this link in here and specifically ask you about it, lol. Guess you read my mind. I had done a search and was reading this post: http://www.iboats.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=17;t=012713

I usually use 89 octane gas with the Quicksilver or Penzoil 2cycle oil.

Thanks,
Bryan Cox

Going to 32 you are getting the compession stroke to start closer to TDC. Two weeks ago there was a posting, he would then go WOT and adj the timing further to get max speed or rpm. Higher octane and lesser BTDC is too cautious to prevent detonation and causes extra carbon.
